In view of what is stated in your letter of the 8th. inst., I beg to inform you that I have ne@ no intention of applying to be transferred to another Colony, as it has become obviously necessary for me to maintain my rights in this Colony, after my long and faithful services to the Government, and I have no intention of being passed on to another Colony under a cloud.

Also in view of the fact that I have been informed by your letter that His Brosliency the Governor intends to commumicate with the Secretary of State in a sense which is adverse to myself and to my claims as Senior Sister to the Matronship of the Government Civil Hospital I beg to request that I may be furnished with a copy of much letter, as it would obviously be most unfair te ne, that any unfavourable report about me, er ny services as a Sister should be sent to the Secretary of State without my having in common fairness, an opportunity of defending myself in reply to such repost.
